beloved weeps

beloved ‘I am crying so much.. why you not caring for me’

boy friend ‘I am collecting your tears dear.. you cry so much that I am thinking of having an IOT device to count number of tear drops and moment it exceeds 10, laughing gas will emit and you will begin laughing’

beloved ‘how funny.. this is the way you care for me’

boyfriend ‘the moment you smile.. a counter would be sent to internet.. to monitor how many days you smile in a day’

beloved ‘you are absolute idiot.. this is not done’

boy friend ‘yes your annoyance will be tracked too.. ‘

beloved ‘this is last straw.. am not going to take it any longer.. I will leave and go for ever’

boy friend holds her hand..

boy friend ‘there will be a pain healer spray in my forehead automatically whenever you talk emotionally of leaving me..  some machine learning principles used on some terms like ‘leaving you’, ‘shut up’, ‘mind your own business’..

beloved is watching sea waves and wondering from where she found this nut of a guy

boy friend ‘I cannot monitor what you think in your mind yet’

Developing Country Startups

Hurried and excite Jimmy boards the train to reach the Singapore Accelerator program.

Jimmy ‘In my country, there is so much crowd during all such meet ups, cards exchanged.. Hi Hello and then.. the cards just lay idle’

Soumya ‘:) We do chat in whatsapp and become friends’

Rafiq ‘they have standard question.. what if something happens.. how you will manage the show’

Tampi ‘they wonder.. how we can scale up with our non-English capabilities’

Charles ‘this eco system is only for few academic institute network alumni and they get going.. to reach out to grass root level.. it needs courage’

Soumya ‘we are fostering startup ecosystem.. building it.. ‘

Charles ‘can you check who get invested.. only ones with reputed branded institute and what about others?’

Rafiq ‘we just pray and look upwards.. solutions exist upwards’

Tampi ‘Angels..  but they cannot understand our language’

Chittu ‘god knows.. why we are so hung up.. we should take jobs and only after 3 years build products’

Soumya ‘no we need to be fresh.. enthusiastic and straight from college to build companies’

Rafiq ‘do you feel we can compete Silicon Valley?’

Soumya ‘no way.. but we can always have some proven business model case studies learnt, and we brain storm and fine tune it’

Charles ‘do you really feel innovations get rewarded in developing countries’

Rafiq ‘only proof of concepts.. I never saw scaling up innovations unless it is by big brand’

Chittu ‘let us do some thing for common man.. that will scale up for sure’

Soumya ”so many folks doing things for common man.. I think we should do for disabled’

All agree and few months later

Soumya ‘1000 disabled individuals aggregated.. and working on 200 projects.. great going.. ‘

Rafiq ‘developing countries need to look at their grass root problems and solve them and not get carried away through mere imitation.. money comes and goes.. but ROI is through impact made to society…’

All give a clap to Rafiq’s thought process

Student Turmoil

Student ‘I just cannot learn this complicated MATHS’

Teacher ‘It is simple’

Student ‘how?’

Teacher ‘ (a+b)^2 = a^2 + 2ab +b^2’

Student ‘it is too complicated’

Teacher ‘do you have girl friend?’

Student ‘yes’

Teacher ‘do you agree both of you together will have exponential power to grow together’

Student ‘yes’

Teacher ‘just add you and your girlfriend’s birthdate and square it up ‘

Student uses calculator and gets a number

Teacher ‘now try to expand it with that formulae’

Student ‘that is the problem… squaring each other, uniting only once.. I think when two folks unite, they try to grow separately exponentially and only give some part of themselves to build relation.. on ‘2ab’ left..  where is the togetherness

Teacher pauses

Teacher ‘are you a student or a philosopher’

Student ‘am just a student who feels  (a-b)^2 = a^2 -2ab + b^2 too gives same message

Teacher ‘what?’

Student ‘to grow, let boy friend and girl friend stay separately.. and grow

Student ‘wow.. you taught me maths  enjoy.. but I do not like Maths’

Teacher smiles..

1 week later

Student ‘penned a book… Mathematics for Lovers’ and it is selling well in market

Student ‘thanks teacher.. I sold it for 50cents and it is doing well..  my earning for bootstrapping my venture’

Why Angels need Due Diligence Support?

god asked 2 questions to an angel…  would u wish to be in sky or sea..  she got confused.. as below sea.. she would get insights of depth of earth and above she could see the living entities.. she preferred to be in sky.. and soon after.. she got lost only in looking at outer outlook/personalities of individuals and began giving boon or curse.. She is clueless of the depths of soul and may be will be committing classic mistakes of giving blessings to wrong entities..  but that is life.. An Angel can make mistake too..  and only way to protect self is through due diligence. Angels too need Due Diligence support

Startups grow Startup

Startups who grow other startups are the modern day accelerators

Reasons

  1. Real Estate Companies with idle space want to start an incubator/accelerator

It is appreciative and heart warming to find that however they need to rely on trust worthy incubation manager to do so..

Now what happens to the incubator if the incubation manager gets another real estate company support and who pays higher percentage of equity?

The first incubator may risk of shutting down..

2)  Anyone who has good experiences in industry can start an accelerator program with support of senior colleagues and industry blessing.. and sometimes get an early success of companies getting invested..

It is a good sign.. but what happens if an accelerator is found in almost all locations of the country. Is it training centers renamed as accelerator?

I would be helping individuals for over 2 decades now.. for their job goals, coaching them and found many individuals really do not ever wish to be entrepreneurs but if no other option exists, they do not mind attempting to run a company

The other individuals, I observed were ones who are at very senior positions and felt they can actually do it better then others.

As there is a shortage of real good mentors, hence opportunities exist but at same time a word of caution:  Investors are impressed only if the startup ensure product reaches market and has good traction so the key success to accelerator is to focus on market

3) Do Accelerators and Incubators really get benefited by the equity model?

They should .. if the startups can scale up well..

But as a mentor, I can safely say that the mindset of an entrepreneur is to save equity.. Most of entrepreneurs guided by that.. and with complex term sheets and vesting and n number of clauses, find entrepreneurs spending time with lawyers and advisors who ask them to exercise caution which is fine but how about an entrepreneur trying to spend more time with marketing folks and understanding how to have good pricing strategy, how to strategize, penetrate market well and also how to be liberal in giving commissions

So it is very important for Accelerator and Incubators to empanel good contributing mentors but they need to be rewarding them by way of compensation or equity and it should be clearly specified.

4) Does entrepreneur get benefited by Accelerator program?

Obvious yes.. as I find each startup has a long way to go..

I have for one.. guiding many incubators and these days also helping few bodies who wish to formulate policies etc around this eco system

However one thing which clearly emerges is that

Do not try to own everything self.. Learn to give away.. and more you give, more you succeed…

Do not try to focus too much on pitch, web site and what not.. . Learn to understand that each client knows that there are professionals who build website, pitch deck etc

so eventually client may appreciate your deck or website or criticize but remember the best of present day million/billion dollar company had sloppy websites too

So… the bottom line.. is focus on business model trials and arrive at good pricing strategies and with a clear assumption that focus only on minimum viable products or service model.

Broken Pieces of Life

Sam and Jane both are great friends and began their journey through same old government cottages provided to their parents..

As they both fell in love midway somewhere in early life, they never realized life would drift them apart..

Sam ‘did you ever realize how much I missed you all these years’

Jane is silent..

Sam ‘Jane.. I agree, I cheated on you for moving ahead in life.. but I also asked forgiveness’

Jane has drop of tears..

Sam ‘never knew.. we would meet at Kanyakumari of all places’

Jane looks at the 3 oceans merging..

Sam ‘life is such that it moves you in so many directions and then there needs a convergence’

Jane looks at Sam

Sam comes closer to Jane..

Sam ‘am here to set up a fishery unit and it will help multiple fishermen’

Jane ‘am here to understand what did Swami Vivekanand feel finally with outcome of life’

Sam ‘Love is all about forgiving and forgetting..  sometimes we mess up with small ego’s.. I just cheated you to not inform you of that female.. who was my business partner..’

Jane ‘but you did get close to her’

Sam ‘you know this eco system.. so many folks.. so many ventures.. so many directions.. no convergence for self…  I got closer to her to only an extent where she could move up in life’

Jane ‘but why you didn’t inform me?’

Sam ‘do you know a doctor-patient relation.. very precarious.. reasons if patient comes closer to doctor.. doctor needs to self control and vice versa… I maintained that balance hence I could develop this model’

Jane ‘Swami realized that true liberation is all about giving away.. am just about to.. and you again bumped into my life’

Sam ‘water can raise to heights in tide.. emotions too.. but just when we walk at seas shore.. we realize all broken pieces of life finally can get tied up.. if all those pieces are still with you’

Jane ‘not sure where I lost you’

Sam ‘you haven’t hence we met in the beautiful sun rise.. shining over us.. Jane.. let us make a new beginning’

Jane hugs Sam..

Jane ‘I always wonder how to cope up with an individual having public life.. I cannot.. Am possessive’

Sam ‘relax Jane.. I do agree.. you have that temperament.. but then.. I am willing to arrive at a formulae’

Jane ‘what?’

Sam ‘my mobile, face book, whatsapp.. all IDs will be available to you.. nothing deleted..’

Jane ‘no I trust you.. I have a simpler formulae.. I will block the ones I feel uncomfortable with and you will need to explain to me why you got comfortable with them and this way all broken pieces of life will join by self’

Sam smiles..

Sam ‘are women born to be possessive?’

Jane ‘no.. even Men do.. it is not a gender issue.. but we are trying to look at that aspect of life which breaks so many lives’

Sam ‘forming a program how to over come possessiveness?’

Jane ‘yes’

Sam ‘I can invest in this.. it is a good concept.. I guess many takers will come’

Sam and Jane are happily eating Idlis in the road side joint and see a poor person asking for Alms

Sam ‘Jane.. life gives us everything… we never look at ones who are more miserable then us and end up being miserable with whatsoever we have’

Jane smiles and asks for coffee which is being served hot..

Jane ‘I love the people.. so simple.. so innocent’

Sam ‘hope this fishery project kicks out well’
