Huma ‘today is our demo day and am very nervous.. a bunch of investos are going to evaluate us”

Sofia ”it is standard 11 slide deck, however we have an excellent product demo”

Ramesh ‘They have announced all of us to be on stage.. let’s get going”

As they walk on stage..  Sofia collapses

Huma, Ramesh, the Incubation Coordinator Dash all rush to her…

She is unconscious…

Dash ”call ambulence.. we need to rush her…”

Jerry her other cofounder mentions ”ambulence should reach out in 2 min”

Geff the investor ”how …. who informed them.”

Jerry ”Sir,  as she was falling with a jolt, her IoT enabled mobile did the trick”

Geff ‘strange…”

The ambulence comes in and rushes Sofia..

exactly 1 minute later, the incubation lead/Geff get a message ”she is fine, down time 5 minutes, on way to hospital.. check her location… how was the demo?”

Geff is shocked… and smiles…

Incubation lead ”hey lets get to the other pitch.. shocking. .even I was not aware of this demo”

PASSION Revisited

PASSION is a strong desire to achieve an object. The obvious outcome to it is some sort of happiness in form of security, pleasure, growth and self indulgence.

Startups are growing in large number and each have passion to do some contribution to society..

Amar ‘why does it inflict pain?’

Neiro ‘because an individual needs to have a very strong motivation to do something’

Amar ‘how?’

Neiro ‘PASSION FRAMEWORK talks of Maslow’s theory and Theory of Equity.. one of the root causes for any sufferings or any growth comes from those dimensions. If someone feels they are not getting what they wished, they begin a revolution..  if someone feels they solve a universal pain point, a venture begins.. a mission begins..  Self Actualization is the last step in that journey.. in each layers we are trying to balance self..’

‘any theorem needs validations and proofs..  to validate a framework, it takes years, decade… but just as an example..

 

PROBING = probe a problem

INNOVATE = think how you can solve the problem

ACTING = you need to take appropriate steps to solve the problem

SCOPE = scope the solutions.. and do not try to solve entire problem at one go

SETTING = solve it in an environment where you feel the pain points are large

OWNING = own the problem and solution and build awareness to community

NURTURING = nurture that community to adapt the solution for universal usage

The method to solve the problem is defined by the implementer.. This is where there is a need for multiple mental faculty trainers to help startups realize that solutions are not only to scale business value but also to scale human value.  The methods cannot be prescriptive in nature else creativity would be lost.

ATAL Startup Startup Incubators

With so many startup incubators mushrooming all over the world. I wonder where will we find so many babies (Startups)

Here I am focused on my research on incubation practices globally and found the key success for any incubator is not on number of graduates coming out of those incubation centers, but how many have succeeded in attracting investors.

I got into this virtual incubation mode and with 750 plus entrepreneurs connected to me, numerous angels, investors somewhere connected to me.. I always wonder..

Wonder: The Zeal for mentoring? Who will bring that? Who will wish to really be with the startup ecosystem zealously growing that venture with multiple gaps in the industry-academic interfaces?

We are in strange situation where multiple billion investments already done by corporate in their on going initiatives and there is also multiple startups trying to explore those technologies or working around them to build solution platform..  There will be whole lot of new experiments and innovations which may or may not have takers..

If any country is thinking of 100 incubators and each incubator will have 100 enrolments per year, it means a milestone for 10000 startups  and if all of these need to get blessings of initial investments of may be US$10000, it means US$100000000 needed

Will this really happen without a structured process framework?

This is where have evolved a methodology, an approach for incubators to follow and move in structured way.

Am getting some good results from my experiments.. Time will say if it indeed is a successful model..

Even to reach a 5% success is not going to be too easy..

All like minded investors, professionals, incubators who are truly interested to understand the dynamics of incubation…

PASSION FRAMEWORK is all about Probing-Innovating-Acting-Scoping-Setting-Owning and Nurturing startups..

I am really not sure which Investor really wishes to invest in frameworks.. Have found many weird answers

‘Invest only in product company’

‘Invest only in companies with proven service model popular in International Market’

but thankful to many of my well wishers who are from all walk of life, the framework in its entertaining format entertain 98 countries..

and there are multiple more things happening around this framework.

What about ones who just do not have any infrastructure to experiment with? will they never get a chance to groom entrepreneurs?  or will some risk taking government really have courage to experiment?

At Home Incubation Model

Just a 2 Bed room hall kitchen

A hall with 2 tables to accommodate 6

2 bed room to accommodate 3 each..

3 girls and 3 boys rent out an apartment for US$1200 in Jersey City for 3 months

Spend US$3600 on apartments.. All have their laptops.

Month 1

Work crazily on traction and make product as couples..

Need less to say dear they are 3 madly in love couples but control their urges so ladies and men sleep separately.

Month 2

Each couple markets the other couple products and gets user experiences… and aim to have 3 customers each.. All three price their products same.

Month 3

Work on improving the product and strength…and apply to accelerators

Month 4

All have managed to get angel investors and planning to move to individual apartments after 6 more month

Convince Me for Funds

Rat is nickname of Mr Ratnaratna . Means Precious..   He is an Investor with a one liner ‘Convince Me for Funds’

He is invited to an accelerator and finds all the budding entrepreneurs having standard template for presentation..

He looks at the accelerator founder and smiles..

“How many days did you train them?  4 weeks?”

The founder is surprised by this question.. Founder Harris has been a very close friend of RatnaRatna and never accepted this question..

Harris ‘They have been on proof of concepts for over 10 weeks and then may be 3 weeks for fine tuning their business model’

RatnaRatna “Do you feel business models really can be too different from so many others.. Is it not borrowed one?”

The entrepreneurs are dumb struck. They realize how they were searching furiously competitor models, may be in some country business models and so on

RatnaRatna ‘Funds never come easily.. Realize each money is hard earned.. Who is willing to among you guys .. willing to market the products”

All silent.. They realize their marketing team member are also freshers with no market experience or too seniors’

RatnaRatna ‘Never go to much over board on product development.. For change we need folks who can market too”

Founder Harris gives a big clap.. and addresses the entrepreneurs

“Hope you loved his sense of humor.. Let us begin the pitch event”

RatnaRatna smiles… and whispers in Harris’s ear “You know how to convince these youngsters and join you..  we need quality.. bring in quality soon.. else next time will stop coming”

Why do unsuccessful people crib?

Because Life never gives them what they wished..  There are instances where highly talented individuals never get their god father or mother and keep waiting for a turn around but no one to hear out.. Even in work shops or seminars the good communicators get attention and the weak ones are struggling to catch attention

Importance of Communication plays a vital role in personality traits hence you and me need to keep improving our blogging capabilities all the more..   Should I say it for self? I am sure all here.. as our community wants us to be expressive, communicative and we need to act.. Action plays an important role.. It is critical element of PASSION FRAMEWORK..  It includes Social Responsibility, Delivery and Support.

If we fail to act… All ideas will only be story.. and may be narrated in Pitch Sessions but of no use, if it cannot be implemented..

Successful personalities can translate idea to execution.. That is where their success lies.

Joy ‘why should it not?. We will also have it furnished…and give the space at nominal US$100 per seat to US$200 per seat..

Joy ‘We can give monthly rent to the center after 3 months on regular basis if it clicks’

Marie ‘Let us experiment’

Joy ‘Any incubation service needs plug and play desks, VOIP, broad band internet connection and that is it?’

Marie ‘What about battery backup and generators or projectors for training?’

Joy ‘Sure.. we can work out on the feasibility and costs. Silicon Valley all over starts this way.. It should click’

Marie ‘Incubation means having entrepreneurs work within a premise and entrepreneur is provided largely infrastructure service.. right?’

Joy ‘Yes and Accelerators provide entrepreneurs mentoring in fine tuning their business plan, marketing strategy, product road map through advisory body, link entrepreneurs to investors and typically a 4 to 16 weeks program conducted. Almost like a training center..’

It takes great pleasure to inform that it is annual anniversary for PASSION FRAMEWORK.

Many things happened around me, around you. However what helped us remain connected is our love for each other through reciprocated likes, views and occasional motivational comments.

With large viewer base from USA, the blog is a honest attempt to pen pure original stories, ideas, poems, philosophy all woven as fiction to help a person understand all dimensions of entrepreneurship.

My research is doing great, my practical conversion of those research theories to stories; an experiment has succeeded largely because of a belief system.

Have initiated a virtual incubation initiative and hope to see bigger counts from countries who have less traffic.
